As someone who loves food and fine dining, I am always on the lookout for new and exciting restaurants to try. We have now had the pleasure of dining at La Terrazza twice, a restaurant known for its innovative and creative approach to Italian cuisine and quite possibly the best restaurant in Rome. Each time we visited we have opted for a different degutation menu to really sample the offerings of this restaurant.
Located in the heart of Rome, La Terrazza is a beautiful restaurant that offers stunning views of the city. As soon as we entered the restaurant, I was struck by its elegant and sophisticated ambiance. The lighting was dim, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere, and the décor was tastefully minimalist, with a few select pieces of art adorning the walls.
Our Review of Quite Possibly Our Favourite Restaurant in Rome: La Terrazza at the Eden.
The first degustation menu we experienced was their X Years menu by Fabio Ciervo along with the recommended wine paring. I have to say every course was incredible and this is the first time I have had a set tasting menu and walked away barely able to eat another bite, it was a huge, but hugely enjoyable, experience. With so many dishes it is hard to pick a favourite however the standouts were the 'Eel with Mixed herbs' and the 'Crispy Red Mullet with Broth and Seaweed Tartare.
The wine pairing was expertly curated, with each course complemented by a carefully selected wine. The sommelier on the day was knowledgeable and passionate, and took the time to explain each wine and how it complemented the flavors of the food.
On our second visit we went ahead and chose the 'Harmony' degustation menu along with the wine paring once again. Theis menu consisted of less dishes but of the same high quality we had walked in expecting. The standout dish here was the perfectly cooked 'Iberian Secret and Liquorice' which I can only describe as unique and left me wanting more, I had never sampled anything like this before. Like before the wine paring that accompanied our menu was expertly chosen, with each wine explained to the same level of detail as our previous visit.
La Terrazza is known for its stunning views of Rome, and they certainly did not disappoint. From the restaurant's terrace, you can enjoy panoramic views of the city, including the historic rooftops, churches, and monuments. The terrace overlooks the Pincio Gardens and offers breathtaking views of the city skyline, especially at sunset when the sky is painted in warm hues of orange and pink.
The restaurant is designed to provide a perfect dining experience, with comfortable seating and ample space between tables to ensure privacy. The restaurant also has large windows that allow for uninterrupted views of the city, even from the interior of the restaurant.
Overall, dining at La Terrazza offers not only a culinary journey but also a visual one. The stunning views of Rome provide a unique and unforgettable backdrop to the already exceptional dining experience.
